Leg veins

Spider veins are the fine red/blue veins that are located near the surface of the skin – they are most commonly found on the legs. Often hereditary, these veins tend to develop or become worse with pregnancy and prolonged standing.

Sclerotherapy is the primary procedure used to treat these veins. It involved micro-injections of a solution that irritates the veins, causing them to collapse and be reabsorbed by the body. Treatment is quick, comfortable and most normal activities can be resumed immediately. As the treated veins will look worse before they look better, Fall and Winter are the best times to consider this procedure.
